Prevention: In Your 20’s and 30’s

Time passes by faster than we can keep up with. Thankfully, we've come far enough along enough over the years to know what treatments, products, and regimens we should be using and how soon we should be implementing them.

So, when do I start focusing on anti-aging?

While you're still young! We've learned that the less we care in our 20's and 30's, the more we are forced to care in our 50's and 60's. Bathing in baby oil to hold onto a temporary summer tan will cause more bad than good as we age, both medically and cosmetically. This is why we stress sunscreen usage daily, no matter your age. Sunscreen protects you from sun damage such as brown spots, wrinkles, textured and crepey skin, blistering sunburns, scarring, and cancerous moles. Sunscreen is the simplest and easiest step towards preserving your youthful, healthy skin.

Next comes your regular regimen. Using Vitamin C as an antioxidant before applying your SPF works to brighten the skin tone. If your skin is oily, you may prefer a more lightweight moisturizer for daily use, but regardless of skin type, we always recommend using something heavier and creamier at night. This allows your skin to soak up and absorb as much moisture as possible, promoting an elastic, hydrated complexion. When your skin is dry and cracked, it is more prone to damage.

Beyond what you can do at home, investing in in-office procedures are what will really pay off long-term. The best in-office treatment to prevent aging skin is Botox! Botox can be started as early as 21 years of age. No, you probably don't have any wrinkles just yet--you've still got years ahead of concentration and angry expressions to make--but it happens fast. Starting with some Baby Botox is the perfect way to STOP those lines before they have the opportunity to form. This is the process of using a shyer dosage of Botox to relax the muscles just enough so you still have natural movement, but not enough to fold your precious skin.

For those of you who may have experienced some damaging acne in your teenage years, you may now be wondering how to restore your skin texture. If your acne is now clear, we can start with some skin resurfacing, such as PicoSure or Erbium Laser, or Microneedling to trigger new collagen and elastin in the skin. When you have decades of life ahead of you, you want to feel confident embracing your clean skin, so laser therapy is incredible for this.

If you're not too concerned with any specific concerns or damage just yet in the skin, you're lucky. You'll want to maintain that beautiful, clean, youthful skin with your sunscreen and some monthly exfoliation. DermaGlow (Dermaplaning and Diamond Glow) treatments are for just that! You are experiencing daily life, whether indoor or outdoors, which comes with environmental dirt and debris. Your body produces oil, and your skin cells turn over every 30 days. All of this creates a buildup of dead skin and clogged pores that need to be removed. Exfoliation treatments monthly will help maintain clean, fresh, smooth, and radiant skin of the face & neck. Regular treatments will help fight bacteria and breakouts as well as enlarged, clogged pores and oil glands, and overall textured skin. These treatments will improve radiance and dullness in the skin, promoting a glowing complexion. They are also incredible prep for any major events such as weddings, work events, date nights, & more!
